Particle Insight iPad Frequently-asked Questions

How do I get the Particle Insight iPad app?

The Particle Insight iPad app can be purchased at the Apple App Store and installed from there.

How does the Particle Insight iPad App work?

Upon installation, the user can view particle size and shape data that was generated by a Particle Insight Particle Shape Analyzer. In addition, the iPad app has a "demo" login feature that allows the user to download demonstration data from the secure Vision Analytical server. The user can use this demonstration data to view all the available functions of the iPad application.

As data is generated by your laboratory-based Particle Insight analyzer, the data can be (as an option) automatically stored on the secure Vision Analytical Cloud. The data can be viewed only by a user operating the iPad app with the username and password for that specific Particle Insight system.

What data results does the app present?

Graphical histograms of all size and shape measures that were used during the run; a statistical summary of those measures, and a listing of system performance measures such as particle count and image count.

What data manipulation can the app perform?

You can generate a full set of statistics for any selected subrange of the size or shape axis.

Do I need an ID/password to view the app?

Use the "demo" ID and password to download a few examples from the demo section of the V.A. site, and save them to the device for later viewing.

How do I get a user ID and password?

After the Particle Insight instrument software is installed on your lab computer, run PIWebAccess.exe to enter a username and password of your choosing. Notify Vision Analytical of your information so the account can be set up on the VA website.

What if my attempted login fails?

Notify Vision Analytical using the form on the iPad support page. We will determine the problem and contact you.

What sample files are available for download?

All samples that you uploaded from your PI installation, either automatically or by using the "Upload to VA website" menu item.
